Afterward, the 60-year-old invited Lange to dinner and the two got to chatting.
“I told her my idea, and she thought it was interesting because she loved doing those four characters,” he explained. “She said, ‘If you can figure out a way to do all four of them, I will do it.’ So, I said, ‘OK, great.’”
“Ryan Murphy talked me into coming back,” she said on the Sept. 22 episode of Live With Kelly and Mark. “First, he talked to me about playing [season 1’s] Constance, which I think was his favorite character that I did. But I said I’ll come back if I can do all four characters.”
And Lange emphasized that her return to her past characters “was great” because, “I like all four of those characters.”
