Saoirse Ronan has given some insight into how her husband, “Slow Horses” actor Jack Lowden, is handling rumors that he’s in the running to play James Bond.
The couple are understood to have welcomed their first child last year after getting married in 2024. In 2018, they appeared together in “Mary Queen of Scots” with Ronan playing the titular royal and Lowden her husband. She is currently shooting Sam Mendes’ four-feature Beatles biopic, in which she plays Linda McCartney opposite Paul Mescal’s Paul McCartney, while Lowden is working on Apple TV’s spy dramedy “Slow Horses” alongside Gary Oldman.
Amazon MGM Studios, who now own and manage the Bond franchise, declined to comment and Oldman later backtracked.
The last Bond film was 2021’s “No Time to Die,” which saw Daniel Craig hang up his bow tie after inhabiting the role for 15 years. So far concrete news about the next feature in the franchise has been in short supply, although it has been confirmed that “Peaky Blinders” creator Steven Knight is writing the script, which he claims to have now finished, while “Dune” helmer Denis Villeneuve is directing.
