Nearly two years after Michelle Trachtenberg died following complications from diabetes mellitus, her Gossip Girl costar celebrated her 41st birthday with a sweet tribute.
“Happy birthday angel,” Momsen captioned her Oct. 11 Instagram post, sharing a selfie of Trachtenberg, “I will always love and miss you.”
After the Ice Princess star’s unexpected death in February 2025 at age 39, Momsen shared an emotional reflection on their longtime friendship.
“When I met this girl 17 years ago, I knew we’d be friends,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “She was smart and sassy, bold and sensitive, funny as f–k and filled with fire. She was simply awesome.”
While Jenny Humphrey (Momsen) and Georgina Sparks (Trachtenberg) didn’t run in the same circles on Gossip Girl, their offscreen bond was stronger than ever.
