Annecchino, who was widely respected for his strategic vision, played a key role in Paramount’s move into streaming. He was involved in the creation and launch of SkyShowtime, the platform born from an alliance between Paramount and Comcast.

Known for his negotiation skills and ability to build long‑term partnerships, Annecchino worked closely with major players across the global media ecosystem, including Sky, Canal+, MultiChoice, Viaplay, Corus, J:COM, Claro and Mediapro, to mention a few.

His influence extended across multiple continents. He oversaw the growth of major networks such as MTV, Nickelodeon, BET, Channel 5 in the U.K., Network 10 in Australia, Telefe in Argentina and Chilevisión in Chile. He also supported the development of production hubs across Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America.

“Raffaele was a deeply valued colleague and a dear friend,” said Alex Okosi, former managing director Paramount Africa and now managing director Google Africa, in a statement.

After exiting Paramount in 2022, Annecchino founded Blue Ocean Media Partners, a global consultancy focused on innovation, transformation and strategic growth.
